1/29

Answer the following two questions on a piece of loose leaf paper or inside of your math spiral.  Make sure to show all of your thinking.  DUE Tomorrow!

1)  Solve the following expressions by substituting in the following integers (whole numbers) for each variable.  x=7; y=9; z= 11

2x-7                               3x + 9y -2z                                     4z-2y
                                                                                             2x

2) Use the following criteria to create your own personal "Order of Operations" problem.  Once you have created the problem, you must have a family member or friend in your house attempt to solve it.  That means you will have to solve it first.  The person will need to sign or initial somewhere on your Cyber Monday paper in order to receive completion credit.

Your Order of Operations (PEMDAS) problem must:
  • have at least 1 exponent
  • have at least 1 set of parentheses
  • have at  least 2 mathematical operations (+, -, x, /)
  • be in fraction form (this means division will be used)
